The SCBP Shared Services Coordinating
Council is comprised of county, municipal
and school officials, and serves as
a steering committee to plan and implement
cooperative programs that will result
in significant taxpayer savings.
The overall goal is to establish substantial and long-term shared services agreements throughout Somerset County and neighboring areas, to reduce the cost of local government to the taxpayer, to enhance the quality of education, and to improve the availability and efficiency of government services.

Goals:
- To work with Somerset County government,
the municipalities, the school districts
and the business community toward
a strong program of tax stabilization
and government efficiency.
- Continued development and implementation
of a countywide Geographic Information
System in cooperation and partnership
with the NJ State Office of GIS.
- Coordinated, countywide planning
for community health, safety and
emergency preparedness.
- Establishment of a voluntarily
coordinated approach toward planning,
developing and sharing services in
the core centers of Somerset County.
- Cooperation and coordination with
other government agencies and business
organizations to promote shared services
on a state-wide basis and to press
for continuing sources of state funding
to support local shared services
initiatives.
